Scourge / Punishment Utility Skills - 75% Broken Underwater

The following Punishment Utility Skills are blocked for underwater use.

  • Serpent Siphon
  • Sand Swell
  • Trail of Anguish

This leaves Scourges with only a single Punishment utility skill for underwater use.

  • Desiccate

There doesn't appear to be any issue with similar skills functioning underwater. Ground-target skills simply change to occurring at the target or the player location. (e.g. Well of Suffering) Leaving trails underwater also works fine. (e.g. Foul Current)

Further, there doesn't appear to be any "lore" junk that would forbid sand skills from being used underwater. (e.g. Manifest Sand Shade, Sand Cascade, Desert Shroud all work fine underwater.)

With that said, this appears to be a bug or major design oversight. Please look into it.


Unable to Enter First Person/Mount Camera Movement: Mac

On the Mac version of Guild Wars 2, I am unable to enter first person view despite having it enabled in settings. Along with the, I am unable to move the distance of the camera at all when mounted.

I can do both of these things on Windows, is there a fix I’m unaware of?

Please post in this thread if you come across a significant bug related to the textures, placement, or effects for the following:

  • Armor/clothing
  • Weapons
  • Character models

General Guidelines

  • Take a screenshot of the issue
  • Take a screenshot of your equipment on the Hero Panel (H)
  • Host on an image hosting site, such as Imgur, GYAZO, Lightshot, Flickr, TinyPic, etc.
  • If you have a video of the issue, upload to YouTube (unlisted)
  • Post the image or video link(s) in your report
  • Describe the problem
  • List your Race, Sex, and Profession

If the issue relates to clothing/armor/weapons

  • List the names and level requirement of every piece of armor/clothing/weapon that your character had equipped when you encountered the issue
  • If you can, list where you acquired the item -- which NPC, what map location, which dungeon, etc.

Note on clipping issues: While we understand that players would like us to eradicate all clipping issues, some minor issues cannot be fixed. For the purposes of this thread, please restrict your reports to severe clipping issues. For instance, your shield is impaling you or your daggers are completely hidden by your coat. Things like hair clipping or minor clipping of weapons into armor are sometimes unavoidable and we appreciate your help in focusing on the major issues.

For issues related to map art, please post in this thread.

Hi, I just want to ask if anyone is also encountering the same problem? (NA server)

I need the event "Destroy the Risen broodmother to free Rakkan" in order to purchase the item (Experimental Remnant) I need to continue on to the quest but I've been stuck for more than a week because the event won't trigger. I have also send a bug report in-game after 2 days of waiting. The Skritt NPC Rakkan is near the R&D Waypoint in Cursed Shore.

I'm also checking the Known Issue Tracker daily but there's a notice of undergoing maintenance. It's also listed there with the status "In Progress" .

I was actually hoping that maybe it'll get fixed once the Wintersday Event patch came but sadly it wasn't. Hoping to get an update regarding this matter.

WvW maps have white borderlines

A lot of times when I go to a WvW map, all the borderlines are white and none of the places like towers and keeps are showing their circle

I can't click on them to see which guild has claimed them

Last week, I was in a WvW map for more than an hour and the white lines were there the whole time

I've seen posts of this in forum which are 2 years old and still not fixed.
So i decided to post a new discussion to this to alert everyone and especially the developers that this issue is still in game and not fixed.
It is very disapointed since this infusion looks pretty good on other racial characters and i would love to see it on my main charr like it should be!
The effect of this infusion needs to be adjust on right position or increase its effect, its not visible if you are using armor and barely visible without any armor....
I play a male Charr, i dont know if this issue exist on female charrs as well, it has to be both checked by developers.

Storyline Disconnects - [Merged]

Arenanet really needs to sort out the disconnects either during or at the end of most storylines. For many people they cant spend 6 hours just trying to get through one piece of the storyline. This should be near to the top of their agenda to patch or reconnect at the point you lost connection for most it is tiresome and frustrating. No doubt if it was an exploit, patch would be incoming asap

6 times today I have tried to complete 'The Departing' all connections lost very near to the end when about to open door to portal.I have tried reducing FPS, performance, quality and adding arenanet to the host file to no avail.

Update I threw the last dice and deleted my Gw2 game cache in the Appdata folder and FINALLY was able to complete this part of the storyline :)

Issue with Stormcaller Armsmaster achievement

Hello, I have two related bugs re: Stormcaller Armsmaster achievement. Whenever I consume a stormcaller weapon recipe it doesn't update the related achievement. I thought at first it was because my character didn't have the related mastery to craft that weapon, but even after switching character and trying with one who can actually craft the wepaon, it didn't update the achievement either. Then I also got a new stormcaller recipe from a chest and although it appeared as unknown in the achievement, when I got the scroll in my inventory, it shows as if I already know that recipe. Not sure if I'm just missing something...

At least the tooltip doesnt show.

Other condi-duration sigills show it in the Skill description , Sigill of misery doesnt.

Right click chat menu missing things

A lot of times my mouse right click menu is bugged for players in chat

When you right click a player who's said something in the chat box, it's suppose to show lots of things

But when the bug happens, it just shows Block and Report

and it doesn't show things like Whisper, Invite to Party, Join Squad, Join on their map, Send Mail, Guild Invite

Its crazy how this was reported for so long and the final boss still bugs like crazy in first stage! Nobody works at this game anymore?

1ST stage, with the 3 jump foods you cant find the last ball to get the boss active again!

Same old problems I've been seeing brought up since the implementation of this buildshit.

Switching "templates" (personally using only hotkeys, no clue whether there's a difference with doing it manually) sometimes results in:

  • utility skills being reset to their default positions (this particular thing happened to me on other characters as well, although at best once or twice in half a year, as opposed to almost every second log-in with a revenant)
  • a complete wipe-out of the current "template" - no legends, healing/utility/elite skills, or trait lines selected

and switching gear sets (also tried solely via hotkeys) sometimes results in equipment's stats getting reset, and said piece requiring a manual selection again.

As I recall, there had been many a complaint back at this bad joke of a feature's initial release about it actively deleting upgrades and/or gear itself, too, and since my financial status is not fit to casually double the price of Mystic Coins on a whim, I'd really hate to research said "feature" of this glorious EAnet stunt on myself, at least not without getting paid.

Note: No hate on the devs, the feature's decent sans context. All undying hate on whomever let this go live triple-monetized, killed ArcTemplates, and completely ignored every breath of feedback given.

The irony that exactly a class channeling the past legends of Tyria revolts against these AAA practices is quite remarkable.

“Fixed an issue in which the Sorrowful Spellcaster would not appropriately exit her Whirlwind Shield after all the storm clouds were dispersed.“

Our fractal group on T4 tonight got the boss down to 20%, and then died. We restarted and couldn’t make it past the stormcloud part. Even though we dispersed everything, the phase would not end and lightning kept attacking us and killing us.

here is a short video , you can even slow it down , i have resistance and taunt on me , and i am taunted as my entire skillbar is on cd . this shouldnt happen.

Achievement: Merchandize Collector

Not sure if this has been reported before but it just caught my eye:
I just completed the Merchandize Collector achievement unlocking the 3 Ebon Vanguard shouulder pieces among other things. Upon completion I noticed two things that seem off:
1) In the achievemtent panel Tier 5 and 6 share the same number of items to be completed, so if you complete Tier 5 you complete the achievement.
2) It also shows the 3 Khan-Ur items as completed, although I haven't unlocked those skins.
I'm guessing this is a means to make getting the rare Khan-Ur pieces optionial to complete the achievements, like for some achievements you have to complete maybe 45 of 50 available objectives. So here I'm wondering if it wouldn't it make more sense to remove Tier 6 alltogether, add its AP to Tier 5 and leave it at that?

BUG: Cut scene camera stuck under terrain in Prologue: Bound by Blood, chapter 'A Race to Arms'

I started playing the Icebrood Saga today, and toward the end of the 'A Race to Arms' chapter, in the 'Prologue: Bound by Blood' episode, there's a cut scene where the camera gets stuck under the terrain. I was unable to see anything happening in the scene other than looking up at NPC's feet.

Approximate date/time: 11/19/2020 5:35pm PST
Map name: Grothmar Valley - Shiverpeaks Pass
Character: Takimoto Kaoru, level 80, human, thief
Playing solo

No real steps to repeat, I just played through the story, twice, with the same result each time. There's no combat before this scene, just some NPC dialogue and walking slowly, sometimes being stopped by wind gusts, and I wasn't using any kind of speed boost skill.

System specs -
OS: Windows 7 64bit
GPU: GeForce GTX 970
Driver version: 456.38
CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1100T
16GB RAM
1920 x 1080, 60Hz resolution

It may be spoilers, so don't read it if you don't want to catch spoilers

Apparently, we've already visible masteries from new DRMs:
1. Claw Island / Bloodtide coast (about this bug a bit latter)
2. Lake Doric
3. Fireheart Rise

And now on the big map Claw Island merged with Bloodtide coast, so it's a bit of a question, where is the first mastery. On the screen, I'm standing just on the corner of the Bloodtide Coast.

I start the topic here, 'cause i'm pretty sure the visibility is a bug too :)

Mordant Crescent/2nd Spear Nayrim event chains bugged - Can't progress Open Skies collection!

The event chain for Second Spear Nayrim in Desert Highlands appears to be bugged. I waited over an hour around Makali Outpost and it did not trigger. After joining a party in LFG also seeking this event chain, I checked out a group event to Assault the Mordant Crescent at the camp. This is bugged; you can't speak to the NPC to start it, and the Champion baddie is marked friendly and just patrols around.

I am wondering if there is a link between the two. Since the Nayrim events start with the Mordant Crescent assaulting Makali Outpost, and this event is stuck, perhaps that is why the event chain is stalled out.

A fix would be awesome; this is the last thing I need for the Open Skies: Desert Highlands achievement for Zaklem: Rune of Loyalty.
